Bancroft Elementary was one of the first schools in the district to get their own garden program. Behind the kindergarten pod there are plants and flowers all year round. Even when the school is not in session, our garden teacher Ms. Burns is hard at work making sure that Bancroft always has a vibrant garden.

Throughout the year, classes come to our outdoor classroom to join Ms. Burns in her gardening. They learn about the plant cycle as they plant, weed and harvest the plants. Once plants are harvested, there is a yummy recipe they get to try. Don’t be surprised if your child asks you to buy snow peas to make the salad they tried at school.
