Volunteers play a vital role in making Bancroft a vibrant and supportive place to learn. Whether you’re working with students, helping behind the scenes, or serving on a PFC committee, your time and talents help enrich our school community. Many opportunities are flexible to accommodate working parents.

Volunteer with Students

Many volunteer opportunities that involve working directly with students require Level 2 volunteer clearance though the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. To view the requirements and how to submit them, please visit the MDUSD Volunteer page.

Summary of the clearance process:

  • Fingerprint clearance
  • Proof of negative TB test
  • Proof of Annual Mandated Reporter Training (new as of July 1, 2026)
  • Complete Level 2 Volunteer Application

Volunteer on the PFC Board or a Committee

Serving on the PFC Board or volunteering on a planning committee does not require volunteer clearance, but it can make a meaningful difference for our school and students! Whether you’re interested in managing the PFC’s finances, organizing a fundraiser, planning a community event, or supporting behind the scenes, there’s a role for a variety of interests and skill sets.

Volunteer opportunities that do not require clearance include:

  • Serve on the PFC Board
  • Grant writing (help with fundraising and auction)
  • Staff Appreciation
  • Spring Auction
  • Dine 2 Donate
